Full version will not be free. Itch.io is the demo. Patreon gets the new content updates BUT keep in mind before you buy that as of this message, we have not finished the beach overhaul so the two match right now.

Assuming you're on windows.
Install 7Zip, WinRAR is worthless (This is genuine PC advice)

Delete your current folder of the game, Do a fresh install.
Finish download via browser > RMB in File Explorer after optionally moving it to your preferred destination > Show More Options > 7Zip > Extract To "Game_Name" > Open game directory > Double click on the "Gamer Struggles" application file.

Still doesn't work? Tough luck.

I found 2 things with the test version, where if you throw a box onto a button and dash quickly after, you get under it and stuck. If you go to gallery and than back to the gameplay, sometimes the camera zooms in and unable to zoom out. Also i dont know if it is for only the test on mobile, but once you finish the first boss, your unable to progress to the beach

The boss is the end of the test. The beach is not in it.

And yes, this latest build only included the Forest since we made a lot of game-breaking changes, we decided to leave that area out until we finish the rework.

Hello so I found a problem in testing version in mobile, so when there is a box to grab it takes like 20 seconds to look like the player grabbed the box but when i move back the box doesn't move, and after few seconds it gets back to normal but only moving controls are working did this happen only to me or to others as well?

This is a very good game but the controlls on apk are awefull. Especially walljumping and the massive gaps between the buttons. I am playing it on a tablet and its not very great. The looks of the buttons could be a little bit better too. Especially the attack and dash button. They look very familiar and that sometimes has screwed me over. But maybe that's just me. Just please, change the controlls on apk. That's all i wish for.

It's not just that, they should just give us customs control, literally difficult to platform even when following exactly.

Programmer for GS here! What type of custom controls would you like to see if you could? We're always open to suggestions on improving things. No guarantee it makes the cut but we love any feedback!

Well, you could add a customization button so you could move it to your preferred spot and able to change the size of it, since my buttons are often too far in the iPad.

hola, ya hice mi degustación con el test y estuvo muy bueno. Claramente pide una opinión el creador así que con gusto le daré la mía (empezaré por los puntos buenos y después por los malos) 

Buenos:

1) me nota la mejora en el gameplay, me encantó el parkour y el nuevo sistema de combate (muy fluido) 

2) lo de la galería esta bien hecho a la hora de bueno...  Ya saben para que

3) la dificultad esta bien nivelada (tanto con el parkour como el combate) 


Malos

1) el bug de la Cámara que hace un hiperzoom, se me hizo molesto y chistoso a la vez, pero con cerrar el juego y abrirlo se soluciona (claramente es mejor solucionar el bug :/) 

2) el sistema de botones esta bien, (lo jugué tanto en pc como en celular, pero este punto es más para celular), pero ha veces pasa un congelamiento y se queda parada chiro, (además que el botón R desaparece cuando pasas a una nueva zona) 

Y esos sería todo los puntos, (son pocos pero es algo).  

Recomendaciónes: 

1) los arbustos no se si están catalogados o no para que no tengan escenas, les quedaría muy bien alguna (como de que si te acercas mucho se activa un combate cercano mano a mano) 

2) que hayan escenas de a dos (osea por ejemplo si te agarra un lobo y viene otro lobo o un zorro, o en otro caso un cocodrilo y una coneja, etc etc etc, se ejecute otra escena tanto de animacion como de CG, creo que se decía así)

3) un doble salto (no se si se tiene pensado uno o no pero estaría bien uno, más que nada para Salvarte de alguna caída o algo) 

4) este punto dude si ponerlo o no pero mejor lo pongo por las dudas, sería un golpe hacia abajo, tipo hay golpe en el aire, golpe cargado, combo de golpe, y digo, porque no también un golpe hacia abajo? :/

Eso sería todo, espero que mi comentario ayude en algo o simplemente sea visto :/, este proyecto está muy bien hecho y se nota el esfuerzo que tiene ( ya lo había probado antes y si no mal me acuerdo era antes de que este la playa, pero no va al caso). Y con eso me retiro dejando mi reseña ;) 


Hi, I already did my tasting with the test and it was very good.  The creator is clearly asking for feedback, so I'll gladly give mine (I'll start with the good points and then move on to the bad).

Good:

1) I noticed the improvement in gameplay; I loved the parkour and the new combat system (very fluid).

2) The gallery feature is well done, for what it's good for... you know.

3) The difficulty is well balanced (both for parkour and combat).

Bad:

1) The camera bug that hyperzooms was both annoying and funny, but closing and reopening the game fixes it (it's clearly better to fix the bug :/).

2) The button system is fine (I played it on both PC and mobile, but this point is more relevant to mobile), but sometimes it freezes and gets stuck (also, the R button disappears when you move to a new area).

And that's all the points (there aren't many, but it's something). 

Recommendations:

1) I'm not sure if bushes are categorized as having cutscenes, but they would benefit greatly from one (like triggering close-quarters combat if you get too close).

2) Two-person cutscenes (for example, if a wolf grabs you and another wolf or fox appears, or a crocodile and a rabbit, etc., another cutscene should play, both animated and CG).

3) A double jump (I don't know if one is planned, but it would be useful, mainly to save yourself from a fall).

4) I hesitated about including this, but I'll add it just in case. It would be a down attack, like an air attack, a charged attack, a combo attack, and so on. Why not a down attack too?  :/

That's all, I hope my comment helps in some way or is simply seen :/, this project is very well done and the effort put into it is evident (I had tried it before, and if I remember correctly it was before the beach was added, but that's beside the point). And with that, I'll leave my review ;)

Hey there, Programmer for GS here. Appreciate the post, loving the feedback and more detail is always good!
For the bugs, we've already fixed the camera zoom and that will update in the 0.2.0 update.

For mobile controls, that's probably our biggest complaint right now is the mobile controls suck. If anyone has suggestions on games that are like GS but better on mobile, I'd love to hear them so I can give it a test and see  what they're doing different/better. Or any suggestions ( we know the left stick is a big issue for some)

As for your recommendations, they sound great! We have a pretty good idea on everything that will go into the early scenes like Forest, Beach and Mangrove. But we usually keep suggestions in mind for our later Acts.

3-somes are already a thing, we have the code in place right now actually! but the only art we have is with 2 conductors (you should be able to see that in the previous builds!) 

And we'll add more as our artists dish them out. Personally, I'd love for us to get a combination of each type of combo but that might be a bit much for the artists at least in the short term!

A down attack and double jump don't seem like bad ideas but we'll have to discuss those internally.

Hola wenas , ya probé el test , y como el creador pidió opiniones quiero dar mis observaciones 

1. Bugs actuales: no he visto mucho , pero si hay un par que arruinan la partida 

Al parecer, en el punto donde debes mover la caja , si presionas mal el botón , te hace atravesarla y también atravesar el suelo , y no hay forma de salir 

Hay una pared que parece no tener colisión en una de las zonas (no recuerdo bien cuál  

Si presiona los botones de cubrir o dash o al saltar puede que se termine bugeando chiro y no pueda ni saltar ni golpear quedando agachada 

2.opinion de jugabilidad 

No está nada mal , el movimiento es fluido y bastante cómodo , aunque los parkurs suelen ser un poco más complicados de lo esperado, lo cual serviría más un doble salto , también las flechas de los arqueros son un poco molestas , aunque le dan cierto toque de dificultad después de que te acostumbras, además de eso y las colisiones fallidas , está todo bastante bien , es lindo y genial los nuevos escenarios y las mecanicas nuevas 

3. Opinión personal y gustos propios, 

No sé , pero me gustaría que hubiera más de una posición en los npc , más de solo un bucle común en todos , quizá variación de posición al azar , ya que resulta monótono después de las primeras veces que ves la animación 

También me gustaría que le dieran una escena a los arbustos o algo, que sean como tentáculos o como pequeñas criaturas que salen de la nada corriendo, 

Pero eso es todo , me alegra de que progrese tanto un videojuego que vengo siguiendo tanto tiempo, el progreso es genial , si leen esto , muchas gracias por leer todo completo, y gracias por poner atención a uno de los miles de comentarios, de nuevo, Gracias

Where is the save file hidden?

For anyone still curious, you can typically find them in your
C:/Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Cumbusters\Gamer Struggles
and then its broken up into individual files. 

The way I edited the save file was

Windows+R then type regedit

I then found the game files and edited it that way. Just be very mindful of what you touch.

Gamer struggles indeed.  I like the animations and CG stuff.  The archers are FRUSTRATING while also traversing annoying jumping levels and that's it. 

Creating frustration is a poor substitute for giving the player something to do with the character.  Is this supposed to be like a fuckable Mario game with all the jumps, pits and spikes?  Hopefully the controls are worked out in the future to make that less frustrating to play. The areas in between save points might be better placed so players aren't fighting sometimes tough jumping levels just to die and have to do the entire thing again.  It's not fun, it's just a trial in patience, and for what - more jumping and if you stick with it, maybe an H scene from a *second* enemy.

Is there a button that submits to the enemies to see the H scenes without damage?

It's a wonderful game. But an awful platformer. They should correct momentum some camera position etc. It's a bad platformer sure. 

But the art. The writing. Even the code is good.

All you people think about is gooning, why not actually try harder for once. Talking about some "frustrating" why not put in effort for once and stop being horny? Just because you're having a hard time doesn't mean the dev needs to pamper you and make the levels easier.

"a fuckable Mario game" is a perfect analogy for our game lol! 
Can you give us any specifics about what you didn't like? Do you mean the mobile controls or on PC? Mobile controls are our biggest complaint lately so we're discussing it internally.

We don't have a submit button, BUT if you go into the horny water we do have a submit button in that scenario!

Phone sensitivity on my end is scuffed, especially due to its small control size, sometimes my presses don't even register due to it, any possible changes to it in the future?

Really hope this gets fixed as i could not progress to rush back to my previous progress due to how scuffed it is and the fact my saves get wiped every update for some reason

Oh, the update said about it, the current update is a test mode so we don't really have much stuff besides the forest level.

Sorry about your saves. We don't do it on purpose but the changes we've made the last few updates have broken saves (your saved position would be either in a wall or in a void for this last update for example)
As for the controls, that's our biggest complain now so we're discussing it heavily to come up with a game plan to fix our mobile controls!

Programmer here, I believe we have about a year left before we're finished with the content we have planned. About a year because we typically work in roughly 3-4 month increments between updates.


No hard dates though, that's just a guess based on conversations the team has had.

Game dev usually takes multiple skill sets, its extremely rare that any one single individual possesses all of them AND a lot of expertise in each of them at the same time. Much easier to find individuals with specialized skill and knowledge in their own area of expertise! Art, code, sound etc. 

For example, if I made the art for this game, we'd have 0 players, cause I can't draw to save my life lol

Little feedback from a Speedrunner. (Platformer ones) 

 It's much better than before. But still an awful platformer. I see you guys made a lot of work to implement DPad and timeBsd jumping which is great. But the after run framing slide (momentum) is bad. Like really bad. The controls still needs a lot of improvement or else give the platforms needs more ledge magnet :3

That asides the narration is awesome as always  and the art is eye candy. I still am a great fan since the start. It was just my two bits.

I have a problem: in the first chapter on the beach, no matter what I do, it won't let me into the changing room or advance past the sign.

I had this problem too. The CG doesn't activate. You have to click the "Fix my save" button, or however it is called, in the main menu to get to the city. From there you can switch the level back to the beach. But don't go back to the start of the beach or else you will be stuck there again.

Any way to fix this on mobile. Same thing exept its any interaction on the beach. I tried the level skip and that half works (i can skip but it doesnt fix the interaction issue.

Sad that there's no linux version. Oh well.
